Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Institute Comprehensive Stroke Center

General Information

Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center has been recognized by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

MNI is the first and only stroke program in the state of Texas to meet such standards. The certification solidifies MNI's place in an elite group of providers focused on complex stroke care.

Comprehensive Stroke Centers are recognized as industry leaders and are responsible for setting the national agenda in highly specialized stroke care.

Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification recognizes those hospitals that have state-of-the-art infrastructure, staff and training to receive and treat patients with the most complex strokes. MNI underwent a rigorous onsite review earlier this year during which Joint Commission experts reviewed the institute's compliance with the stringent Comprehensive Stroke Center standards and requirements, including advanced imaging capabilities, around-the-clock availability of specialized treatments, and staff with the unique education and competencies to care for complex stroke patients.

Parking Information

Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza - Texas Medical Center is located at 6400 Fannin, on the corner of Fannin and Main streets and Cambridge Street, in Houston's Texas Medical Center. The plaza is easily accessible from Loop 610 and highways 288 and 59.

Convenient parking is available in several garages near Memorial Hermann-TMC:

• Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage – The Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage, located directly across Fannin Street from the hospital, has Skybridge access to the hospital. Self-parking is accessible from the southern entrances of the garage off both Main Street and Fannin Street.
• University of Texas Professional Building Garage – Parking is also available in the University of Texas Professional Building Garage adjacent to the Medical Plaza, located between Fannin and Main Streets.
• TMC Garage 4 – TMC Garage 4 is accessible from both Fannin and Cambridge streets and provides visitors with access to the hospital.

Rates vary according to the garage; pay stations are conveniently located so that you may pay first before you leave. Please check with the specific hospital area/unit to determine which parking area is most convenient and accessible.

Hospital Valet:

Valet access is available off of Fannin Street, with access to the Fannin entrance of Hospital (Cullen Pavilion).

• Monday to Friday: 5:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
• Saturday to Sunday: 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
• Flat rate of $15 per day
