Welcome to The Woodlands Neurology and Sleep at Mischer Neuroscience Associates (MNA), where the physicians and staff are dedicated experts in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological and sleep-related disorders, including stroke, movement disorders, epilepsy, narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea and more.
Through its affiliation with the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, The Woodlands Neurology and Sleep at MNA brings world-class neurological expertise to The Woodlands and Montgomery County areas.
Kevin C. Gaffney, M.D., is board certified in both neurology and sleep medicine. He serves as the Director of Neurosciences and Director of the Sleep Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, an accredited primary stroke center since 2007. After receiving his bachelor’s in chemistry from Harvard University, Dr. Gaffney attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship and his neurology residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and served as Lieutenant Commander, Medical Corps, United States Naval Reserve from 1985 until July of 2002, when he joined The Woodlands Neurology and Sleep.
Ryan McDonald, M.D., is a board certified neurologist. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rice University and Master of Science in electrical engineering from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a Henry Luce Scholar in Taiwan and worked as an engineer for 8 years at National Instruments in Austin before completing medical school, his internship and neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He has practiced at The Woodlands Neurology and Sleep since 2008.
