Through our affiliation with The Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, Mischer Neuroscience Institute offers both neurosurgery and neurology residencies and fellowships.
We are fortunate to have outstanding teachers and mentors, to have cutting-edge research, and to be surrounded by great patients in the nation's largest medical center. Multiple subspecialties are well represented and supported by the latest technology. Highlights of the program include the world-renowned stroke service, the largest in the area 38-bed Neuro Trauma ICU, 8 dedicated ORs, one of the largest and most comprehensive Epilepsy Monitoring Units, and a busy inpatient service.
